Service Management

Service Management

The Service Management Tools are placed in the Platform as a Service layer of the IRMOS architecture, acting as a link between the Software as a Service and the Infrastructure as a Service layers. They aim to support the provisioning and management of the infrastructure through an open, service-oriented architecture. Their main role is to manage the negotiation, reservation, execution and monitoring of the Application Service Components and, at the same time, to address the real-time related performance requirements in a transparent way to the user while conforming to the Service Level Agreements.

The Service Management Bundle includes the following components (please click on each component to obtain additional information and links to source code).

Evaluator A service that detects any A-SLA violation during execution and also receives the notification when a T-SLA violation is detected by ISONI. In general, the operation of this service is based on the reaction to various Events and by applying specific Rules, defined by the Application Developer, relevant Actions will be realized. Discovery This service is responsible for finding registered candidate ISONIs, which meet the low level QoS constraints defined in the Technical SLA. It is designed so as to apply rules based on the advertised capabilities of the ISONIs and the QoS types that are supported. D3.1.4 “ Final version of IRMOS Overall Architecture"
